“逃と捨”
逃・捨
I’d like to write more Chinese character’s story.
Do you know “逃” and “捨”? These words are not an antonym. “逃” means running away from something. “捨” means discarding something. What is difference between these words?
Both words indicate an action with my will. And each Chinese character has each meaning.
“逃” means a divided symbol of fortune-telling.
“捨” means relax the handgrip and stick the finger out.
I think these words were born in the battlefield. But, both words lose the original meaning. When you take a stand something, you might be told your decision is “逃” or “捨”. Then what do you think? I’m going to think the difference between these words and “resign”.
「逃げる」と「捨てる」、
二つの言葉があります。
対比の言葉ではないのですが、
比べることはできます。
ある大切な事柄に対して、
自分はそこから逃げるのか、
それとも、
自分はそれを捨てるのか。
そこにある違いは何なのか。
共に、
自らの意志があって行われる行為。
「逃」はその領域から自分自身が去っていくこと。
「捨」は自分が持っているモノを放り出すこと。
漢字の持つ意味は、
「逃」とは、
占いによって現れた左右に分かれた文様のこと。
「捨」とは、
手の力を抜いて指を伸ばすこと。
反意語は「取」。
「取」とは、
捕虜や敵の耳を戦功として手に持つこと。
古くは戦で用いられた言葉なのでしょう。
「逃」はぎりぎりの状態で、
どちらを選択するのか、という状況。
一方、
「捨」は、
自らが休める場所をつくった上で、
その場所で手の力を抜くこと。
今では意味が変わってしまっているようです。
何かと対峙した時に、
結果として、
逃げた・捨てた、と言われるかも知れない。
その時に、自分は何を思うのか。
諦めるとの違いを考えてみます。
